How to get organised for Christmas? Five amazing hacks!

Did you know? Only 45 days left until Christmas! Us here at My Foodie Box meal-kit delivery service Perth just love the festive season! There’s a special kind of magic in the air that only comes around this time of year. But sometimes, the idea of Christmas can be far less magical and more like a festive nightmare. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, especially if you live a busy lifestyle or have a big family to think about. Or both! Do you feel like Christmas is sneaking up on you and starting to stress you out? No need to lose sleep over it, luckily we have 5 seriously helpful hacks on how you can have an organised Christmas this year!

1. Start planning as early as possible

It may feel funny to start your Christmas Shopping in early November when some of the Halloween candies are still on sale at your local supermarket, but we can promise you, you’ll be thanking yourself later. Real life festive nightmare is realising it’s the week before Christmas and you haven’t bought a single gift and all the Christmas hams are sold out, everywhere! Plan ahead and start ticking things off your to-do list. This way nothing gets left to the last minute and you’re able to put your feet up on Christmas Eve with a generous glass of vino.

2. Set a budget, the one that you can realistically stick to

Probably one of the most stressful parts about Christmas is, you guessed it – money. Once you’ve completed step 1 and made your to-do list, it’s time to sit down and work out how much everything is going to cost. Knowing what the festive season is going to cost you and setting limits for your spending can be a massive stress reliever.

3. Plan the menu with My Foodie Box Christmas Box

After doing some budgeting you should roughly know what you’re going to spend on food, but another important key to having an organised Christmas is to plan what’s going to be served on Christmas Day. How many mouths do you need to feed? How many meals do you need to plan? What will others be bringing along with them? Is there any vegans attending if so, what can you cook for them? Don’t stress! We are here to help!

Leave your Christmas food shopping with us! With our delicious traditional or plant-based Christmas Box, you can cook up a feast for your loved ones using fresh WA local produce, non-processed ingredients and sustainably farmed veggies. That’s entrees, mains, sides and dessert – all delivered for free straight to your doorstep and ready to serve from box to plate in 3 hours, leaving you more time to enjoy the festivities!

Being organised with My Foodie Box also helps to reduce a lot of unnecessary waste. One of My Foodie Box’s top priorities is to ensure your Christmas feast arrives fresh and safe in the most environmentally responsible packaging available. That’s why we only use packaging that is compostable, recyclable and reusable.

4. Decorating fun

Apart from cooking, decorating is our second favourite thing to do around Christmas time, but it can also be a fair amount of work. Choose a theme early on and plan your decor around it. This way you know exactly what you need to pull out of storage and, if anything, what you need to buy. Want to be more eco-conscious? Try to avoid buying anything new and stick to what you already have. You can create a different theme just by leaving a certain colour out of the combination. Or just involve the kids and get crafty and creative!

5. Most importantly, enjoy the holidays and take time for yourself!

Make sure that you’re kind to yourself and schedule in some much needed down-time. You may feel pressured to attend every single festive event you’re invited to, but if you’re feeling overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to say no.

My Foodie Box Traditional and Plant-Based Christmas Box is now ready for orders, get organised early and secure your box before it’s gone! Forget the supermarket rush this year, click here to see our Christmas Menu.
